Dedicated to WildNorWester's 'What Could Have Been' special. (I made up the title). In that special, the NWR is dieselised and the steam engines are at various heritage railways, railway museums and preservation railways around the UK, and it's up to Sir Richard Topham Hatt and Miss Emily Helen Hatt to put things right. Here's where they all went: (Rolling stock that came with them are in brackets) Duck, (Alice and Mirabel) and Oliver (Isabel and Dulcie) went to the Didcot Railway Centre. Donald and Douglas (And Toad) went to the Strathspey Railway. Eric went to the Bluebell Railway. Thomas, (Annie and Clarabel) Toby (Henrietta, Victoria and Elise) and Percy went to the Dean Forest Railway. Sheffield (And Brian) are on the Witney-Yarnton Heritage Railway. [Sheffield used to work here before going to Sodor. Also, the railway in question is a fictional heritage railway.] Gordon is at the National Railway Museum in Yorkshire. Henry, James, Alice and Peter are owned by the NWR Heritage Society. [Not only do they take heritage trains and rail tours, but they also are the reason why tourists come to the NWR in the 1st place.] Edward is stored away at the China Clay Quarry. Bill, Ben, Geoff and Mavis are all unaffected by the dieselised NWR because of their private ownerships. [As such, Bill and Ben are protecting Edward at the China Clay Quarry.] Daisy, BoCo, Bear, Patrick and Diesel are all in the NWR diesel fleet. But, they all want their steam companions back. [Diesel feels especially pained, as he did not get the chance to apologise to the big engines and Duck for the affair in 1958.]
